Saturday Errand Day

Pasig Palengke

Saturdays are errand days. We went to Pasig Palengke to get some veggies for our daily juicing routine. The bulk of food we buy are enough for three days – with twice-a-day produce – one in the morning and one in the evening.

Novo Department Store

Afterwards, we went to Novo – Jaycelle’s most favorite department store. All kinds of plastics in the world are contained in this two-storey building just beside the public market.

The Meaning of Life
“Living in the moment could be the meaning of life,” a blouse reads.

The best part of our experience (second to jackspotting) is coming inside an empty soul and coming home a rejuvenated being. Just look at how life-changing this piece of wisdom is:

It poses the thought as modest even though it could be considered a common knowledge deep inside all of us.

Warning
A “Damage Mo Bayad Mo” sign on a sunglasses stand.

The worst part comes in the presence of warning signs leaning toward the unfriendly side. Everywhere people are told to look after themselves and to not leave behind valuables and children.

These are just some of the status messages of salespeople to the unruly patrons – which I’m sure the management either is unaware of or couldn’t care less about – that aim to keep things in order.

  • Damage Mo Bayad Mo (shades)
  • Bukas Mo Bayad Mo (items in plastic bags)
  • Bawal Umupo (chairs)
  • Bawal Pindutin (aircon)
  • No Trial (deodorant)
  • Gamit Mo Bayad Mo (underwear)

The Most Valuable Investment
“Life is the most valuable investment,” a cookware tag reads.

Not every material thing is a hundred percent utility or entertainment. Let me leave you with this piece of investment advice.

You surely have a knack for highlighting the fun in the mundane. That’s why I’m in love with you. #cheesy
